The Alliance will continue to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression, Jens Stoltenberg said.
Ukraine will receive hundreds of devices from NATO aimed at combating Russian and Iranian drones. This is what the Secretary General of the organization, Jens Stoltenberg, said in Brussels in a press conference that took place after the two-day meeting of the defense ministers of the member countries of the alliance on Thursday, October 13.
“As part of the Comprehensive Assistance Package, NATO will soon supply Ukraine with anti-drone equipment: hundreds of jamming devices that will help render Russian and Iranian-made drones ineffective, as well as protect Ukraine’s population and critical infrastructure. In the long term, we will also help Ukraine transition from Soviet equipment to modern NATO equipment,” he said.
The Secretary-General stressed that NATO is not a party to the conflict, but the Alliance will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary.
“Other allies are also helping Ukraine. I thank them and urge them to continue. We also provide fuel, winter clothing as part of the NATO Comprehensive Assistance Package,” Stoltenberg summed up.
As previously reported, according to British Defense Minister Ben Wallace, Kyiv’s Western partners will not run out of weapons for the Ukrainian military. In addition, the West will be able to rebuild the arms supply chain, unlike an isolated Russia.
We add that Germany has given Ukraine the first of the four promised IRIS-T air defense systems.
