Air raid alerts in Ukraine may last longer because Russia has increased the use of Iranian kamikaze drones.
The speed of these Iranian-made drones is not very high and is 120-50 km/h. Therefore, such an UAV flies to the target for a long time. In addition, the drone can also change the route. On October 12, Yury Ignat, the speaker of the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced this on the air of the national telethon.
An air raid alert has been issued in several areas. It is obvious that kamikaze drones, which were recently brought to the territory of Belarus, are working. Why so long anxiety? I will immediately explain to the residents of the western regions and others. Because the speed of the drone is not high 120-150km/h. And he flies for a long time and can correct the route. So the alarm will be somewhat longer,” he explained.
As you know, the Shahed-136 Iranian kamikaze drones are difficult to identify with the air defense systems that are currently in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, because these drones fly quite low. The flight range of such UAVs is 1 thousand km, and in the bow of such a device can carry explosives weighing up to 50 kg.
Tonight, October 12, the air raids continued for a long time in some areas. Subsequently, it became known that the Ukrainian air defense successfully worked on hostile targets in the Rivne, Zhytomyr and Cherkasy regions.
Recall, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny said on October 11 that the weapons provided by Poland help the Ukrainian military to resist the Iranian Shahed-136 drones used by Russia.
