Pope Francis condemned Russia’s “merciless bombing” of Ukrainian cities, calling them a “storm of violence.” This was reported by Reuters on October 12.
Speaking to thousands of people at the weekly general audience in St. Peter’s Square, the pope urged those “who have the fate of war in their hands” to stop.
“My heart is always with the people of Ukraine, especially those living in the areas that suffered from the merciless bombing… May the spirit (of God) change the hearts of the people at hand the fate of war, so that the storm of violence can stop and peaceful existence can be restored to justice,” he insisted.
As reported Correspondent.net, October 10, Russian troops launched a massive missile attack on Ukrainian cities. Infrastructure facilities in 12 regions and Kyiv were damaged, 19 people died and 105 were injured.
On October 11, the occupiers continued shelling of critical Ukrainian infrastructure, power outages began in the regions.
