Russian bombing in major Ukrainian cities such as Kyiv, Lvov and Zaporozhye on Monday caused several deaths, and the population is seeking protection in shelters.

The Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine, General Valeriy Zaluzhny, said on his Telegram channel that the Russians launched 75 missiles, of which 41 were neutralized by their air defense systems.

Putin confirms bombings

Dead in different cities

At least eight people died and 24 were injured in the first Russian bombing against the people of Kiev, registered this morning, said the chief adviser to the Ministry of Internal Affairs Rostyslav Smirnov, whose words are quoted by Ukrinform.

Later, a second explosion occurred in Kyiv around 09:16 local time (06:16 Moscow time), although there is no information about the victims of this second explosion yet.

This is the first time the Ukrainian capital has been bombed since last June. The bombardment of Kyiv falls on the day of airstrikes on several Ukrainian citieswhich continued today.

The portal “Daililviv” reports that at 9.16 local time, electricity and the Internet were lost in the city.

In Zaporozhye early in the morning, the third shelling of the city took place in five days, as a result of which, according to some media reports, one person was killed.

In that city, an attack on a civilian building this Sunday left seventeen people dead and forty wounded.

Ukrainian media today also reported several rocket explosions in the city of Dnipro, as well as shelling of Zhytomyr near Kyiv; Khmelnitsky, further east along the banks of the Southern Bug, and Ternopil (to the east, along the banks of the Seret River).

Seek shelter
