The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive in the east and south of our country, liberating new territories.
President Zelensky spoke about the situation at the front and said that the most difficult thing is in the direction of Bakhmut. On Saturday, October 8, he said in his video message.
He emphasized that the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to hold positions in Donbass, but it is “very difficult” there now and very difficult fighting continues.
“Today, the movement of our military, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Guard and everyone involved in active operations continued – in operations in the east, in operations in the south of our state,” Zelensky said.
At the same time, he thanked everyone who fought.
“Today I want to once again praise our soldiers from the 93rd separate mechanized brigade Kholodny Yar for their courage, for their tenacity in this particular direction,” the president said.
He also thanked all Ukrainian anti-aircraft gunners and “everyone involved in the air defense of Ukraine.”
“We are doing everything possible to protect the Ukrainian sky, and this is one of the highest priorities for our diplomats – to speed up the decision of partners regarding the provision of a modern and effective air defense system to Ukraine, a sufficient number of them. We will definitely come here,” the head of state summed up.
The previous day, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had vacated 776 sq. kilometers in eastern Ukraine and 29 settlements, including six in the Lugansk region.
