500,000 people may be called up for service in Belarus – Minister of Defense

If necessary, 500,000 conscripts could be called up for military service in Belarus. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Belarus Viktor Khrenin, the report of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.

“The military department, if necessary, can put a source of 500,000 conscripts, and we are talking about a trained reserve,” he said.

According to Khrenin, today 60% of the Belarusian army are contract soldiers.

The Minister of Defense of Belarus also announced the arrival of the Iskander missile system and S-400 air defense system to the troops, and also said that a presentation of combat unmanned systems will take place in October.

Earlier, Khrenin said that the troops of Belarus, together with the army of the Russian Federation, are “ready to defend the Union State.”

Recall that the self-proclaimed President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, ordered to “conscript people to military registration and enlistment offices without violence and noise.”
