Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting with the economic bloc on inflation, announced a ban on price increases from Thursday, October 6. This was reported by the Belarusian state publication “BelTA”.
“From the 6th, any price increase is prohibited. some numbers, what calculations, recalculations,” Lukashenka ordered.
The dictator justified the decision by the fact that prices in Belarus allegedly became “sky-high” after the “crazy surge”.
According to him, “there is no need to raise prices any further” and “this cannot continue.”
“It is impossible to raise prices anywhere else. There is no need. But there are exceptions. And these exceptions are under the control of the minister and governors. Everything,” said Lukashenka.
He also warned that there should be “no facility closures or attempts to exit the market.”
Recall that Lukashenko acknowledged Belarus’ participation in the war.
