The pressure of sanctions on the aggressor must be increased to influence the end of the war in this way, Zelensky believes.
The civilized world must take steps to ensure that Russia does not receive any profit from the sale of oil and gas. This was announced on Thursday, October 6, in a video message by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

“We must make sure that not a single petrodollar and not a single gas euro can be used to continue Russia’s war against Ukraine and the whole world,” the head of state said.
Zelensky noted that the EU is preparing to implement the eighth package of sanctions, which provides for:
-
limiting the sea transportation of Russian oil;
-
creating tools to limit the oil revenues of a terrorist state.
At the same time, he noted that this is not enough and the pressure on Russia must be increased. Zelensky noted that Kyiv will continue to insist on tightening sanctions against Russia.
The head of state also expressed gratitude to those who “worked for this result and created the necessary economic alternatives to Russia’s energy resources.”
Remember, on the eve of the Committee of Permanent Representatives of EU countries agreed on new sanctions against Russia, including a limit on oil prices.
The head of the EC announced proposals for a new package of anti-Russian sanctions last week.
