“We have collected more than 100 such facts, proven, with video and audio files. It applies to outdoor advertising, the educational process, the activities of the work authorities, television, radio broadcasting, the so-called mobile zombie boxes, and so on,” Kremen said.
According to the language ombudsman, information about the facts of linguocide in the temporarily occupied territories, both last year and this year, was collected from open sources – Internet sources, newspapers, messages on social network, Telegram channels, messages from city leaders, leaders. of regional VGA. This applies to the regions of Sumy, Chernihiv, Mariupol, Melitopol, etc.
“From the point of view of law enforcement agencies, an applicant is required to give his consent in person, in writing, to provide such information. We have cooperation with law enforcement agencies interested in this information, and we help them so that every citizen of Ukraine who is persecuted either on the basis of language, qualified under Article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, or under other articles, becomes a witness. , including international opportunity,” Kremen said.
Harassment of Ukrainians on the basis of language in the temporarily occupied territories, violation of the language rights of citizens is one of the elements of the genocide of Ukrainians carried out by Russia.
Recall that Taras Kremen has already appealed to the citizens of villages and cities liberated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a request to send materials about known facts of linguocide.
