A Paris court declared the actions of customs officials in relation to Kuzmichev’s yacht La Petite Ourse illegal and annulled his arrest.

Russian billionaire Alexei Kuzmichev won a lawsuit against French customs over one of his yachts, La Petite Ourse, which was detained under anti-Russian sanctions in mid-March. On Wednesday, October 5, according to Bloomberg.

Thus, the Court of Appeal in Paris declared the actions of customs officials in connection with Kuzmichev’s yacht La Petite Ourse illegal and annulled his arrest in the city of Antibes on the Cote d’Azur.

The second claim of one of the shareholders of Alfa Group Kuzmichev concerns the confiscation of his second yacht La Petite Ourse II, which was also detained in Cannes due to sanctions.

Bloomberg noted that the court sent the case on the arrest of Kuzmichev’s second yacht another time for consideration. The second case will be considered by the Rouen Court of Appeal.

In September, it became known that Kuzmichev sued the French authorities, because, in his opinion, customs officials had no right to detain the yachts, despite Kuzmichev being on the EU sanctions list .

Recall that Kuzmichev was included in the list of the fourth package of EU sanctions on March 15, along with other Russian oligarchs.

And in August, the arrested Russian superyacht went under the hammer for the first time.
