The upcoming heating season will be the most difficult in the history of Ukraine, requiring some restrictions from the inhabitants of the country.
Ukrainians need to save electricity and shift its consumption to night time. This was announced on Tuesday, October 4, by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal on Telegram.
According to him, without the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, which is now temporarily under the control of the Russians, the Ukrainian energy system would work at maximum load in winter. But every Ukrainian can help “maintain the energy stability of the state” by making energy more reasonable.

“For example, to shift domestic and industrial electricity consumption to night hours as much as possible. It is also very important, if possible, to pay for utilities in a timely manner,” said the prime minister.
He added that saving electricity will help to pass the winter season “with minimal loss.”
Electricity tariffs in Ukraine today are fixed at this level, depending on the level of consumption:
-
Up to 250 kWh per month – 1.44 UAH/kWh;
-
More than 250 kWh – 1.68 UAH/kWh.
It should be noted that in September, DTEK energy workers restored electricity to 385,000 families in the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, which were subject to ongoing blackouts.
