Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjarto said Budapest did not intend to support EU sanctions on energy imports.
Hungary will not support the imposition of an embargo on Russia’s oil and gas supplies. This was reported by the Financial Post.
According to Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó, Russia’s gas supplies are running smoothly, and therefore the Budapest official does not intend to support EU sanctions on energy imports.
Recall that the EU is preparing an oil embargo as part of the sixth package of sanctions against the Russian Federation. The import ban will be enforced in stages so that dependent countries have time to seek alternative suppliers of petroleum products.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said France did not need Russian gas and intended to advance sanctions against it.
It was also reported that Poland had imposed an embargo on coal from the Russian Federation.
