At Yelenovka, the Russians killed about 40 and wounded about 130 Ukrainian prisoners of war to cover up their abuse.
The UN mission to investigate terrorist activity could not go to the territory of the pre-trial detention center in Yelenovka, Donetsk region, due to the lack of security guarantees for its participants. This was announced on Tuesday, October 4, by the representative of the UN Secretary General Stephane Dujarric in a briefing.
At the same time, he did not specify which side the international organization is waiting for security guarantees.
“We cannot send any mission without ensuring that we have all the security guarantees. There are also logistical problems, but first of all we need security guarantees. Until that happens, we cannot send,” he said.
The representative of the Secretary General emphasized that the mission needs a “green light”.
Note that in early September, the UN assured that its mission should arrive “in the next few days.”
Remember, on July 29, “DNR” said that 47 people died, 75 were injured, including eight guards, during the shelling of the Yelenovskaya colony.
In this regard, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the armed forces of the Russian Federation carried out targeted deliberate shelling of the correctional institution in Yelenovka, and the statements about the alleged’ y shelling from the Ukrainian side is a blatant lie and a provocation.
