Kyiv is trying to convince Washington that the provision of critical weapons will not lead to strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation.

Ukraine turned to the United States for a request to provide it with long-range ATACMS (Army Tactical missile System) missiles, which offer oversight of the targets that are hit. This was reported by CNN.

In an effort to overcome the Biden administration’s resistance to giving it a new set of powerful long-range missile systems, the Ukrainian government is now offering the US full and permanent information on its list of suspected Russian targets.

According to media sources, in this way Kyiv is trying to convince Washington that “the supply of critical weapons will not lead to strikes on Russian territory.”

As CNN notes, ATACMS surface-to-surface missiles can fly about 300 kilometers, which is about four times the distance of missiles used by mobile HIMARS systems.

Earlier, the Office of the President of Ukraine announced that the partners should provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with modern battle tanks and ATACMS missiles in response to Russia’s “referendum” on the occupied territories of Ukraine.
