Searches were conducted at the offices of NIS Petrol and at the homes of company employees in Timisoara and Bucharest.
Romania has launched searches into the Serbian company NIS Petrol, which is controlled by the Russian group Gazprom Neft. He is suspected of espionage. Opinia Timisoarei writes about it.
Searches were conducted at the offices of NIS Petrol and at the homes of company employees in Timisoara and Bucharest.
In total, nine searches were conducted: five of them in Timisoara and three in the capital. Documents and computers were confiscated from the offices.
According to the publication’s source, the searches are part of the DIICOT case, in which Romania is investigating the illegal transfer of computer data, information about the country’s oil fields and illegal access to systems.
It is also not excluded that important information about the reserves in the western part of the country may have entered Serbia or Russia.
More than eight people will be brought to the hearing at the DIICOT headquarters in Timisoara.
Recall that this year Gazprom exported almost 59 billion cubic meters of gas less than a year earlier.
