The occupiers told the agency that they had “temporarily detained” Murashov. The organization hopes for a speedy resolution of this issue.

As indicated, after receiving information about the kidnapping of the leader of the occupied ZNPP, the agency “contacted the relevant authorities and informed about the temporary detention of Mr. Murashov.”
“Such detention of any member of the plant’s staff would be a source of serious concern, including because of its psychological impact and pressure on other staff, which is detrimental to nuclear safety,” Grossi commented.
He noted that he is seeking clarification from the Russians and hopes for a quick and satisfactory solution to this issue.
“His (Murashov – ed.) absence from work also has a direct and serious impact on decision-making to ensure the safety and security of the station,” added the head of the IAEA.
It will be remembered that the day before it became known that the Russian patrol stopped the Director General of Zaporizhzhya NPP Igor Murashov on the way from the plant to Energodar. There is currently no information on his whereabouts.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called on the world community, particularly the UN, IAEA and the Group of Seven, to take decisive action to free Murashov.
