A diplomatic note in which Russia warned the United States of “unexpected consequences” due to arms supplies to Ukraine was called an “empty threat.”
The United States will not stop providing military assistance to Ukraine because of Russia’s objections, and its diplomatic record is considered an “empty threat.” This was announced at a briefing for journalists by White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, Meduza reports.
“I’m not going to speculate on empty threats or threats from President Putin or the Russian leadership,” Psaki said in response to a question about Russia’s request to stop arms supplies to Ukraine.
The White House press secretary added that the US authorities did what they originally planned in the event of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, that is, they provided military and economic assistance, and also supported the people of Ukraine.
“And we’re going to continue that,” he said.
Recall that earlier the American media found out about a diplomatic note sent by the United States, in which Russia said that the supply of “most sensitive weapons systems” to Ukraine “adds fuel to the fire” and could lead to “unpredictable consequences.”
On April 13, U.S. President Joe Biden announced a new $ 800 million aid package to Ukraine that would include “highly effective weapons systems.”
