Ukrainian experts came to the conclusion that an explosion with a capacity of 700 kg of TNT occurred at the joint venture.
A man-made explosion with a capacity of about 700 kilograms of TNT caused a leak in the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea. This happened on Monday, September 26th. This was confirmed by the analysis of seismic data conducted by the Main Center for Special Control of the State Space Agency of Ukraine, Ukrinform reported on Thursday, September 29.
Analysis of seismic data by the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization seismic signals from the Baltic Sea were registered on September 26.
Specialists analyzed the records of seismic signals from the channels of FINES (Finland) and NORSAR (Norway) stations. The analysis determines the location of the signal source.
In this regard, German security authorities believe that the pipes of the Nord Stream gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea were damaged by high explosive devices. The German edition of Spiegel reported this on Thursday, September 29.
The strength of the explosive devices used is comparable to the impact of 500 kilograms of TNT, media reports.
Divers will investigate the damage over the next few days.
“If so, it is possible to draw preliminary conclusions about the explosives used,” the report said.
