Baltic Pipe plans to start delivering gas on October 1 with an initial capacity equal to 2-3 billion cubic meters per year.
Acting Director General of Ukraine’s GTS Operator Pavel Stanchak took part in the opening ceremony of the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline connecting Norway and Poland through Denmark. GTS Operator reported it.
As the head of OGTSU noted, potential Ukrainian customers have the opportunity to purchase gas through this gas pipeline in Norway or in Poland for subsequent delivery to Ukraine.
Baltic Pipe plans to start delivering gas on Saturday, October 1, with an initial capacity equal to 2-3 billion cubic meters per year.
“It is expected to reach the maximum capacity of 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year in early 2023. However, the Polish and Danish sides recently reported that the work is “good” and the full capacity is will be reached ahead of schedule – before the end of November this year,” the message said.
Currently, it is technically possible to deliver Norwegian gas to Ukraine directly from Poland (guaranteed daily capacity) or via a Polish-Slovak interconnector.
It is reported that now Ukraine has the opportunity to buy liquefied gas from Norway, USA, Qatar, regasify it at LNG terminals in Poland and Lithuania and bring it to Ukraine.
It was previously reported that there was a leak from one of the Nord Stream-2 lines. It happened in the Danish EEZ southeast of Bornholm.
