Poland urged to expel Russia from the IAEA

The presence of the Russian military on the territory of the Zaporozhye NPP was confirmed by the mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency, initiated by Poland.

Poland’s Minister of Climate and Environment Anna Moscow called for the exclusion of the Russian Federation from the International Atomic Energy Agency if Russian troops do not leave the ZNPP. On Monday, September 26, he wrote on the microblog Twitter.

The Minister presented this proposal in his speech at the IAEA General Conference in Vienna.

“As we sit here, the territories of Ukraine are occupied by Russian troops. We demand the de-Russification of the occupied territories and demilitarization. Until then, Russia’s membership in the IAEA should be suspended. If they cannot fulfill these conditions, they should be expelled from the organization,” the minister said.

It is known that the Russian army captured the ZNPP and the satellite town of Energodar on March 4. The invaders repeatedly fired at the station and its surroundings.

Recall that in early September, the IAEA published a report on the situation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, in which it called for the creation of a protective zone around the nuclear facility to prevent its damage.

It is also reported that the IAEA has started consultations in the area around the ZNPP.
