Russian paratrooper admits to shooting a civilian in Bucha

The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed another Russian military man for killing a civilian. The occupier shot dead a civilian in Bucha during the temporary occupation of the city. It was reported on the website of special services on Monday, September 26.

So, in early March of this year, together with his accomplices, the invader shot a car with a civilian on the highway near the village of Zdvizhovka, Buchansky district. To hide their crime, the Russian military decided to bury the body of a civilian.

In a clash in the direction of Kherson, this military man was detained.

“During the interrogation and other investigative actions, SBU officers established and proved the detainee’s involvement in the crime and received information about the whereabouts of the deceased. Currently, the body has been exhumed and submitted for forensic medical examination,” the report said.

The Russian soldier who killed the civilian turned out to be a contract soldier from one of the units of the 331st parachute regiment of the 98th airborne division of the RF Armed Forces. He also saw action in Syria in 2019.

“At the beginning of the mass invasion in Ukraine, the attacker was part of a work group that was trying to capture the Kyiv region,” the SBU said.

Also, during the investigation, the SBU established additional information about the crimes of the Russian unit. Among them are shelling of residential buildings, looting and other killings of civilians.

SBU investigators informed the captured occupier of suspicion under the article on violation of the laws and customs of war (part 2 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Earlier, the SBU established that the commander of the special group Akhmat Iznaur Musaev killed five civilians in the Buchansk region. War crimes were committed in the village of Mikulichi.

Also, law enforcement officials informed the colonel of the National Guard of suspicion of ill-treatment of prisoners of war in the Kherson region.
