All state structures are fully engaged in helping Ukrainian soldiers who have returned home.
On Tuesday, September 27, President Volodymyr Zelensky expected to receive a clear algorithm of actions to return the Ukrainian military freed from captivity to normal life. He said this in a video message last night.
“Now all our state structures are fully working to help our liberated soldiers. Medical, social, legal help … Treatment, rehabilitation, restoration of documents, bank cards, housing, etc.,” specified of the head of state.
At the same time, he stressed that the authorities continue to work on the further exchange of prisoners, and explained that this issue directly depends on the situation at the front.
“No matter how hard it is, we must free all our people, all Ukrainians. We do not forget anyone. But we still remember: it is not easy, it requires the efforts of many people and it is directly related to the situation on the front line. Our active actions include increasing those we can exchange. The more Russian soldiers are detained by Ukrainian forces, the faster we can free our soldiers, our heroes from the captivity of Russia,” Zelensky said.
Recall that on September 21, the largest exchange of prisoners took place since the beginning of the war against Russia – the Ukrainian authorities managed to return 215 Ukrainian soldiers, including more than 100 defenders of Azovstal.
At the same time, according to Irina Vereshchuk, Vice Prime Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, approximately 2,500 Ukrainians are still in Russian captivity.
