Blinken warned China about “consequences” in case of Russian aid

The Secretary of State emphasized that the United States remains “open to working with the PRC where interests intersect.”

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi warned China against supporting Russia in the war against Ukraine. The State Department reports

Blinken recalled that the United States had condemned the Russian war against Ukraine and noted that if China supported Moscow’s aggression against a sovereign state, there would be consequences.

At the same time, the Secretary of State emphasized that “the United States remains open to cooperation with the PRC where interests intersect.”

As a reminder, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbing said China’s position on Ukraine is “consistent and clear.”

He also commented on the so-called “referendum” in the occupied territories of Ukraine, saying that all countries should respect their sovereignty and territorial integrity.
