Blinken recalled that the United States had condemned the Russian war against Ukraine and noted that if China supported Moscow’s aggression against a sovereign state, there would be consequences.
At the same time, the Secretary of State emphasized that “the United States remains open to cooperation with the PRC where interests intersect.”
As a reminder, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbing said China’s position on Ukraine is “consistent and clear.”
He also commented on the so-called “referendum” in the occupied territories of Ukraine, saying that all countries should respect their sovereignty and territorial integrity.
