In the Russian Federation, they confirmed that the pseudo-head of ORDO Denis Pushilin was “involved” in the exchange of the Ukrainian oligarch.

The Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, refused to comment on information about sending Viktor Medvedchuk to Russia as part of a prisoner exchange. This was reported by the pro-government publication RIA Novosti on Thursday, September 22.

According to him, he did not comment on the information about the exchange of prisoners of war, because he did not have such authority.

It should be noted that at the end of May, the representative of the Kremlin commented on the situation with the exchange of Medvedchuk for the Ukrainian military from Azovstal. In particular, he made sure that it was impossible to do so.

“It’s almost impossible to talk about it, it’s different categories,” Peskov said.

In turn, the Russian media put “responsible” for the exchange pseudo-head of the DNR” Denis Pushilin.

The quasi-head of the “republic” confirmed that he signed the “decree” on the exchange and explained why Medvedchuk was exchanged.

“Just before my eyes, with the participation of Viktor Medvedchuk, thousands of men were released,” Pushilin assured.

He also noted that five of the 55 military are residents of Donbass. In particular, four people from Donetsk and one from Luhansk.

At the same time, 215 people were handed over to Ukraine. Pushilin also stated that some of them were allegedly “war criminals”.

It should be noted that the exchange of prisoners was carried out thanks to the negotiations of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
