Protests continue in Iran, which began after the news of the death of a girl in prison for wearing a hijab incorrectly.
Mass protests are taking place in one of Russia’s few allies, which has unleashed war against Ukraine, Iran. All because 22-year-old Mahsa Amini collapsed after being arrested by the vice police and died three days later. The girl was detained by the vice police for violating the rules of wearing hijab.
Witnesses accused the police of beating him.
Mass actions
Amini’s death sparked protests in the capital and Iran’s northwest, in the Kurdistan province. There, according to local sources, two people were killed in clashes with the police on Monday, and more than 30 were injured, some seriously.
Protests in Iranian Kurdistan broke out on Saturday in Amini’s hometown of Sakez after his funeral. There, security forces opened fire on people, who were on their way to the local administration. At the same time or shortly after, protests began in other Kurdish cities. Videos posted on social media show people throwing stones in the city of Divanderra before fleeing the gunfire.
Other footage shows protests in the capital as women remove their headscarves and shout Death to the dictator, a chant often used against Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The Kurdish human rights group Hengaw announced that at least 38 people were injured in the protests in the two cities. Hengaw reported the death of two protesters after clashes on Monday in Divanderra, located between Sakez and the capital of Iranian Kurdistan, Sanandaj.
The organization also said that in the city of Bukan in the province of West Azerbaijan, a 10-year-old girl died during the protests: a bullet hit her in the head.

Response of the authorities
The police said that Amini was not beaten, but she had a sudden heart attack, and not immediately after the arrest, but later, when she, along with other women, was waiting for the start of “practicing” the proper wearing of the hijab.
The interior minister said Mahsa Amini appeared to be “having health problems.” The girl’s father said his daughter is perfectly healthy. He also said that his daughter had bruises on her legs and that the police cut out things in the CCTV footage that they did not want to show.

witness accounts
A witness who asked not to be identified told IranWire that he was with Mahsa when she fainted. According to the woman, at that moment a police officer asked the detainees to sit in half of the room.
“Immediately after I sat down, I saw one of us fall and hit his head on a chair,” the witness said. According to her, the women nearby tried to help Makhse, but she did not react to anything. A paramedic arrived a few minutes later. He injected the girl with some kind of medicine and began to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

“I looked at Mahsa’s face – all I could see was the whites of her eyes. We were all terrified. We shouted: “You murderers! You killed him!”, the girl recalled.
