The possibility of a peace agreement in Ukraine remains very remote, said UN Secretary-General António Guterres on Wednesday after a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“It would be naive to think that we are close to the possibility of concluding a peace agreement,” he said. António Guterres at a press conference, stating that the United Nations would continue to pursue this goal, but said the chances were “minimum” now.
The head of the UN addressed on Tuesday the situation in Ukraine With Vladimir Putin and, as he explained, discussed with him the possibility of extending the agreement on the export of grain through the Black Sea, formulas for facilitating the sale of Russian fertilizers and the issue of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
They also discussed the plight of the POWs and a fact-finding mission that the UN is planning to send to look into the attack on a prison in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic that killed fifty Ukrainian prisoners and that Moscow and Kyiv blame each other for.
According to António GuterresRussia has promised not to put any obstacles to the UN investigators and will allow them to do their job as they wish.
“Far from the World” in Ukraine
Asked about the chances that the recent offensive by Ukrainian forces could hasten the end of the war, António Guterres believed that “we are still far from the world.”
“I would be lying if I said that I am sure that this will happen in the near future,” the UN Secretary General said, saying that he plans to continue contacts with all parties to resolve various aspects of the conflict.
António Guterres remembered that the war Ukraine “It devastates the country and slows down the global economy,” with important implications, especially for poor countries.
The conflict is presented as the main issue that international leaders will discuss next week when they meet in New York for the annual meetings of the General Assembly, although António Guterres He also stressed today the importance of fighting the food crisis or climate change.
“This year’s general debate should inspire hope and overcome divisions that are drastically affecting the world,” he stressed.

“Espacio Vital”: Dr. Gabriela Calderón Valencia, breast and soft tissue oncology surgeon, explained that a young breast cancer group is called when a woman is younger than 40 years old. He clarified that in developed countries, the prevalence is between 5% and 7% among people under 40 years old, and in undeveloped countries – 20%. This may be due to the lack of timely assistance and the lack of proper diagnosis. He pointed out that many times young patients arrive with symptoms but they are ignored and the attending physician must be very careful with a group of young women with breast cancer. They should go to the primary level, and if they don’t find a solution, they should go to the second level of care.
