Turkey has announced the start of a military operation in northern Iraq against the PKK.
In Turkey, there was a loud explosion near the police station west of Istanbul. As a result of the explosion, at least 10 people were injured. This was reported by CNN Turk.
According to the Saba newspaper, there was an “explosion in underground cable structures.” Residents were evacuated from the buildings due to intense smoke outside.
It should be noted that on Monday, April 18, Turkey announced the start of a military operation in the northern part of Iraq against the PKK.
In the first stage, Turkey attacked shelters, bunkers, tunnels, caves and warehouses.
Turkish authorities explained the military operation by the desire to protect the country from the terrorist threat. According to the Ministry of Defense, Turkey’s targets are only terrorists.
