The invaders planned to use the information for a series of missile strikes on Kyiv in preparation for the heating season.
As a result of a special operation in Kyiv, the Security Service neutralized a Russian spy group that was collecting information about the geolocation of Defense Forces facilities and critical infrastructure in the capital. This was reported by the SBU press center.
The traitors paid special attention to the locations of Ukrainian military units, including the National Guard, thermal power plants and railway junctions.
“The collected information was forwarded to the invaders through anonymous Telegram channels. For each “report”, the invaders transferred to their henchmen a reward in the amount of 5,000 hryvnias. To hide “the calculation”, the attackers used electronic cryptocurrency exchangers and bank cards issued to dummies” , – said SBU spokesman Artem Dekhtyarenko.
According to the investigation, the agent group was formed by a staff of the FSB department in the Rostov region after the start of a full-scale raid. It consists of four residents of Kyiv. For the conspiracy, they received operational pseudonyms, including Y, Shaman and Narek.

It was established that they tried to involve a resident of the Cherkasy region in reconnaissance and subversive activities.
The perpetrators took pictures of the objects, transferred to Russia materials with markings on electronic maps and a detailed description of the surrounding territory.
The invaders planned to use the information received to carry out a series of missile strikes on Kyiv in preparation for the heating season.
However, the SBU officers worked in advance – they exposed, found and detained the traitors in a timely manner.
During searches of residences of enemy agents, law enforcement officials found:
mobile phones with proof of correspondence with a Russian administrator;
bank cards, through which the agents received money from Russia.
SBU investigators informed the three malefactors of suspicion of high treason committed under martial law. The court chose them a measure of restraint in the form of detention.
Another defendant was reported on suspicion under Art. 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the direction, movement of arms, weapons and ammunition in Ukraine, the movement, movement or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, made in a state of martial law or a state of emergency) .
Earlier, a Russian agent was detained in Kyiv, trying to get a job in the special combat unit of the Azov regiment. He was transferred to the territory of Ukraine even before the start of a large-scale invasion.
