In the Georgian city of Kutaisi, an armed man was detained from entering a branch of the Bank of Georgia. 12 hostages were not injured, Ekho Kavkaz reported on Tuesday, September 20.
It was indicated that a police car with a detainee left the territory near the bank. Later, the police entered the building and let the hostages out.
According to media reports, the detained man is under 45 years old. The police have summoned his family members for questioning.
It was also noted that the man decided on a robbery after a recent return from exile due to serious financial problems.
It will be remembered that today an armed man blew up the Bank of Georgia branch in Kutaisi. He held 12 people hostage for more than eight hours – employees and guests of the bank
Later, the man put some conditions – $ 2 million, but then reduced the amount to $ 1.5 million, a Russian flag, a helicopter and a walkie-talkie.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia qualified the event under four articles of the Criminal Code, including as a terrorist act.
