Russian ships were banned from entering Bulgarian ports. Previously, a similar decision was made by two other countries.
Bulgaria, followed by Italy and Romania, prohibits Russian ships from entering their ports. This was reported on the website of the Maritime Administration of Bulgaria.
The ban started at 00:00 on April 16 and applies to all sea and river ports in Bulgaria. This is valid not only for ships under the Russian flag, but also for those who changed it after February 24, 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine.
Exceptions are provided only for ships in emergency or in need of humanitarian assistance, as well as for ships carrying energy, food and medicine into the EU, according to The Guardian.
It was previously reported that the European Union would return to the issue of the oil embargo against Russia after April 24 – after the second round of presidential elections in France.
