The coffin of Elizabeth II arrived at Windsor Castle at 18:00 (Kyiv time). A short memorial service was held at St. George’s Chapel. It was led by Bishop David Conner. Afterwards, King of Arms of the Order of the Garter David Vines read out all the monarch’s titles.
The funeral ended with a prayer from the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. The public events on the occasion of the funeral of the Queen of Great Britain ended with the performance of the national anthem.
At the end of the ceremony, the crown, scepter and power of the monarch are taken from the coffin – they will be received by Charles III during the coronation.
The Lord Chamberlain breaks his cane as a symbol that the queen’s reign is over. Charles III and the Lord Chamberlain saluted Elizabeth II before the coffin was lowered into the crypt.
