The demand from Russia to pay for the damage caused is “rabid Russophobia”, believes Dmitry Peskov.
Poland’s claims about reparations from Russia for damage caused during World War II are “rabid Russophobia” and unhealthy political extremism. This was said by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, according to the Russian pro-government news agency Interfax on Monday, September 19.
“In Warsaw, unfortunately, a number of politicians only indulge in some kind of unhealthy political extremism, otherwise it can hardly be called,” the Russian official believes.
According to him, Russian historians should probably “dig up the 16th century” to find “what to ask of the Poles.”
“If you are joking about such rampant Russophobia, then maybe our historians will have to dig into the 16th century, maybe we will also find something that we can ask the Poles,” said Peskov .
On September 14, the Sejm of Poland adopted a resolution in which it called on Germany to take responsibility for the damage caused to Poland during World War II and to pay reparations to the Polish state.
Remember, Polish President Andrzej Duda said: Poland must demand war reparations for the damage caused during World War II, not only from Germany, but also from Russia.
