According to SEI, two surface water samples were taken at different locations – upstream and downstream of the dam. Above the dam, an excess of the maximum allowed concentrations for iron by 1.2 times was recorded. Below the dam – exceeded the standard for ammonium nitrogen by 2.5 times and the total by three times.
Separately, it is noted that no excess was recorded for chlorides, nitrites and phosphates.
“Today in the work of eliminating the consequences of the emergency, sterile quartzite and crystalline schists are used, which do not have properties such as hematite, color the water red, so the color of the water in the Ingulets River is gradually is gradually decreasing. . In addition, emergency work to repair the damaged reservoirs of the Karachunovsky dam is ongoing, their completion is scheduled for the end of the day,” the statement said.
At the same time, specialists from the State Ecological Inspectorate took additional water samples for further laboratory studies at the outlet of the Iskra reservoir in the Ingulets River, in the Zheltaya River before it flows into the Ingulets, and in the Ingulets after of Zheltaya River. flows through the Ingulet. Research on these selections is ongoing.
Recall that after the Russian strikes on hydraulic structures in the Krivoy Rog region, the water in the Ingulets River turned red.
