Support for Ukraine will not weaken at the beginning of winter – NATO

The Alliance will continue to support the Ukrainian people in resisting Russian aggression, said Admiral Rob Bauer.

NATO at the beginning of winter will not change its position on supporting Ukraine in the war against the aggressor country. This was said by the head of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, at a press conference in Estonian Tallinn on Saturday, September 17.

“The exceptional courage of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Ukrainian people will again and again prevail against the enemy. NATO allies will support them as long as necessary. Winter will come, but our support will remain unwavering,” he stressed he.

According to him, the unprovoked war of the Russian Federation against the Ukrainian people is the beginning of a new era of international security.

“The attack tested the entire international order based on rules. This, as well as terrorist groups that use asymmetric warfare methods and create global and local crises, as well as China, which massively increases its military efforts and uses dangerous rhetoric, all this weighs heavily on us ‘, said the soldier.

He added that the Alliance has a “sacred task” to protect nearly a billion citizens living on its territory, so NATO is waiting for any developments.

It should be noted that on Saturday, September 17, NATO’s Military Committee in the Estonian capital Tallinn discussed support for Ukraine.

It will be remembered that, according to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Russia is now the main threat to NATO countries and peace in Europe.

NATO Secretary General Jensk Stoltenberg noted that the Alliance is deploying new forces to European countries, which is a signal for Russia: it is ready to defend its territories.
