Russia and China have begun joint military exercises in the Pacific Ocean. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported this on Thursday, September 15.
“The crew will perform joint tactical maneuvering and organization of communications between the ships of the group, conduct a series of exercises with practical artillery firing, and ensure flights of carrier-based helicopter,” the report said.
In Russia, the tasks of patrolling are the strengthening of naval cooperation between the Russian Federation and the PRC, maintaining peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, monitoring the sea area, as well as protecting the object of maritime economic activity of the two countries.
Recall that in early September, Russia hosted the Vostok-2022 maneuvers with the participation of China. These military exercises are observed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. More than 50,000 military personnel, as well as more than 5,000 pieces of weapons and military equipment, were involved in them.
As part of the Vostok-2022 exercises, the fleets of the Russian Federation and China conducted joint actions in the Sea of Japan.
