Emergency services had to blow up the dam in two places, after which the water level in the Ingulets River began to drop.
In Kryvyi Rih, emergency services removed the consequences of the missile attack on the dam of the Karachunovsky reservoir throughout last night. This was announced on the morning of Thursday, September 15, by the regional and city authorities.
It is noted that in these two places it is necessary to weaken the dam, after which the water level in the Ingulets subsides.
“All night they fought the consequences of the night missile attack and underwent a new shelling. In Krivoy Rog, the water that spilled after the missile attack on the hydraulic structures of the city was tamed,” said Valentin Reznichenko, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military District.
He noted that according to updated data, the Russians fired Kinzhal and Iskander missiles.
Due to the attack, the water level in different parts of the Ingulets River rose from 1 to almost 2 meters. As of this morning, it has dropped 13 centimeters and continues to fall. Rescuers and emergency services continue to work.
In turn, the head of the State Administration of Krivoy Rog, Alexander Vilkul, said that a large list of events was carried out at night, “starting with two explosions of the dam in the Chernogorka region to increase the throughput, and ending with the big engineering work.”
Liquidation of the accident is continuing, but the flow of water has decreased and the water level has started to drop, Vilkul added.
As a result of the missile attack, 112 private houses and yards were flooded. People were evacuated, including from Gdantsevka and Motronovka.
According to Vilkul, another cruise missile hit site was found, which caused damage to the water supply.
About 5,000 people in the Sofiyivska community are without water, Reznichenko said. Restoration is currently underway.
It was also reported that Krivoy Rog was no longer fired upon, but during the night the Russians covered Nikopol with fire four times and once the community of Marganets.
It should be noted that on the night of September 14, the Russian military launched a series of missile attacks on Krivoy Rog and damaged hydraulic structures, leaving several districts of the city without water.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the invaders tried to flood the city with rocket attacks in Krivoy Rog.
The American Institute for the Study of War suggested that with these strikes, Russian troops were likely trying to destroy Ukrainian pontoon bridges below the Ingulets River.
