The Lithuanian authorities have extended the state of emergency in the country until mid-December, and from September 19, entry into the country is closed for Russian citizens with Schengen visas. Delphi reports.
It was noted that the Seimas adopted a resolution on the introduction of a state of emergency on the border of Lithuania with Russia and Belarus until December 16. Currently, the state of emergency is valid throughout the country until September 15 inclusive.
So, from Friday midnight, the state of emergency will cease to operate throughout the country, except for the territory on the border of Russia and Belarus.
And from September 19, when the ban on the entry of citizens of the Russian Federation into Lithuania began, the state of emergency also applies to border control points located outside the territory of the border section, that is, in Vilnius and Kaunas airports, at Vilnius railway station.
It is reported that only dissidents, freedom fighters, independent journalists, others arriving for humanitarian reasons and their families, as well as family members of EU citizens, sailors, people traveling to Kaliningrad and long-term visa category D will be allowed in Lithuania.
Recall that Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia have agreed to a significant restriction on the border crossing of citizens of the Russian Federation with Schengen visas.
