Bringing the Russian army into martial law has not been considered, the spokesman said.
So far there is no talk of mobilizing Russia. This was said by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov in response to questions from journalists, reports TASS.
“For now, nothing. There is no discussion of that,” he said.
He forwarded all other questions on this topic to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. He also declined to answer a question about Sunday’s strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure.
“Both issues are within the competence of the Ministry of Defense. All information on the facts of the missile attacks, on the targets, as well as the results of the missile attacks, is provided of my colleague Konashenkov (official representative of the Ministry of Defense – ed .) in his briefings,” said the spokesman.
According to him, “assessments of the current state of the situation” are provided by the Russian Ministry of Defense, or by Putin himself.
Andrey Klimov, head of the Russian Federation Council’s commission for the Protection of State Sovereignty, told Russian media that he did not see the need to introduce mobilization.
The upper house of the Russian parliament also sees no reason to introduce martial law and mobilization in the country.
“I see no sign of such a need (mobilization – ed.), as well as the introduction of martial law,” he said.
Recall that after several days of the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced that the invaders withdrew from the Kharkiv region to regroup troops to form efforts in the direction of Donetsk .
It should be noted that during the counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated several large cities – Balakleya, Kupyansk and Izyum.
