Lithuanian border guards believe that Minsk is helping illegal migrants enter the territory of EU countries.
Lithuanian border guards on the border with Belarus detained 107 illegal migrants per day. The Belarusian side helps them to enter the territories of neighboring countries. This was stated by the State Border Service of Lithuania, according to the national Lithuanian media LRT.
The report says that Belarusian officials contribute to illegal migration to EU countries. They bring foreigners to the border and send them to the territory of neighboring states.
On September 9, 15 illegal crossing attempts were recorded at the Latvian border. At the same time, Polish border guards caught 29 migrants at the border.
The State Border Service of Lithuania said that almost 4.2 thousand migrants arrived illegally from Belarus to Lithuania last year.
At the end of August, Lithuania completed the construction of a physical barrier on the border with Belarus. A fence and barbed wire appeared on sections of the border with a length of about 550 kilometers.
In addition, Poland also built a similar fence. In the summer and fall of 2021, these countries suffered from a migration crisis artificially created by the Minsk regime.
