Russian President Vladimir Putin yesterday, September 10, via video link opened the Moscow Sun observation wheel at VDNKh – the largest observation wheel in Europe with a height of 140 meters. However, it worked for a day and was closed, according to the Telegram channel Caution, Moscow.
Visitors were told the attraction was closed for technical reasons. The official reason for the shutdown is “currently calibrating the system”. Tickets that have already been sold can be refunded.
It was noted that before that the wheel stopped unexpectedly several times while driving.
Ferris wheel Moscow Day is 30 closed cabins, which accommodate up to 15 guests each. The cabins have a video surveillance system, a communication button with the operator and climate control, five cabins are equipped with a transparent floor. Turning the wheel takes 18 minutes and 40 seconds, the ferris wheel can accommodate up to 450 people.
Previously, the largest Ferris wheel in Europe was the London Eye (London Eye) with a height of 135 meters.
