We have the ambition to go through this path in a maximum of two years, to become a fully European country in the EU,” said Shmygal.

On June 23, the European Council granted Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership. This decision was strongly supported by all EU leaders during the summit in Brussels. The expected date for Ukraine’s entry into the European Union is 2029.

It should be noted that Ukraine and the EU have signed five agreements that bring the country closer to joining the EU.
