In Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, the so-called “police” leader of the Balakliya occupiers was detained, the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation reported on Saturday, September 10.
“As part of organizing information about possible cooperation in unoccupied territories by local law enforcement officials with the occupiers, DBR employees, along with the military counterintelligence of the SBU, quickly identified the traitor who led the so- called the police department of the occupation authorities in Balakliya,” the report said.
According to the investigation, the traitor was one of the leaders of the Balakliya police, and when the invaders arrived, he willingly agreed to cooperate with them. For this, he received the position of head of the workplace.
After the de-occupation of the city, the collaborator tried to escape to “LNR”, but he was detained in Kupyansk.
The issue of informing him of the suspicion, as well as choosing a preventive measure, is being resolved.
Recall that during the counter-offensive in the Kharkiv region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated several large cities – Balakleya, Kupyansk and Izyum.
The liberation of the region continues towards Volchansk, along the way the Armed Forces of Ukraine have taken control of several villages. Information appeared on the network that the invaders announced an evacuation from the city, and Russian troops also left it.
