The head of European diplomacy has appealed to EU countries to provide weapons to Ukraine as it prepares to intensify Russia’s military campaign.
The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that the European Union will expedite the provision of necessary support to Ukraine. This was announced on Friday, April 15, in a statement by Josep Borrell on Twitter.
The other day, Borrell told European diplomats that a decision would have to be made in the coming days, not weeks.
Military experts believe that a military campaign in eastern Ukraine would be decisive for the consequences of the war. Therefore, Kyiv has only a small window to prepare and obtain the necessary weapons.
It is known that most EU countries are engaged in studying requests for the supply of tanks and mass launch rocket systems. This topic will be discussed at the meeting of foreign ministers in Luxembourg.
Recall, the Council of the European Union approved the allocation of the third tranche in the amount of 500 million euros from the European Peace Fund (EPF) for the supply of weapons to Ukraine.
Earlier, the Government of Canada submitted to Parliament a new budget for 2022-23, which provides for the allocation of $ 1.5 billion to Ukraine for the purchase of arms and economic recovery.
