Two trains collided in Croatia: three people died – media

At least three people were killed in a collision between two trains in Croatia. Another 11 people were injured, including Iranian citizens. This was reported by the portal Dnevnik.

The collision occurred on September 9 at around 21:35 local time near the city of Novska. According to unconfirmed reports, the passenger train ran into a red light and then collided with a freight train.

As a result of the incident, 11 people were injured, including Iranian citizens. The victims were taken to hospitals in the cities of Slavonski Brid, Pakrac and Nova Gradiska.

Unofficially, it was noted that the number of casualties was even higher.

According to the portal, there are people on the freight train, probably migrants.

Emergency services are at the scene. The rescue of the people under the train wreckage is currently underway. Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic also arrived at the scene of the accident.

Let us remind you, earlier in the northwest of Croatia there was a major road accident. A bus carrying Polish pilgrims overturned, killing 11 people and injuring 34 others.
