Kim Jong-un, in his speech after the adoption of the law, said that the country will never give up nuclear weapons.
North Korea has passed a law allowing it to launch a preventive nuclear strike against an adversary “in the event of threats.” On Friday, September 9, reports the South Korean agency Yonhap.
“If the command and control system of the state’s nuclear forces is threatened by an enemy attack, a nuclear strike to destroy the enemy’s forces, including the source of the provocation and the command post, will be automatically and immediately will be delivered according to a predetermined plan,” the agency quoted the document as saying.
According to the adopted document, North Korea can use nuclear weapons if:
-
an attack on the DPRK using a nuclear or other weapon of mass destruction, and also when the threat of such an attack is considered “imminent”
-
attack on the leadership of the state and leaders of the command of nuclear forces
-
attack on the country’s strategic facilities
In addition, they intend to launch a preventive strike on the DPRK if “there is a need to quickly prevent the expansion of the scale of the war, as well as to seize the initiative in the war.”
Pyongyang also said that having nuclear weapons is its “legitimate and inalienable right.”
Recall that the FBI, during the search of the residence of former US President Donald Trump in Mar-a-Lago, discovered a document describing the military defense of a foreign government, in particular, the nuclear potential this.
Earlier, The New York Times, citing declassified US intelligence data, reported that Russia was “desperate” to buy millions of shells and missiles from North Korea.
The thing is bad. Russia is already buying weapons from North Korea
