In the past, Serbia planned a contract for several tens of millions of euros, but now we are talking about hundreds of millions.
Serbia intends to buy Turkish military drones Bayraktar worth several hundred million euros. This is what Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said at a press conference during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Belgrade.
“Today we discussed increasing cooperation in the military field. And I will not hide the fact that we want to buy Bayraktar drones. But the whole world wants them, so we lined up. We hope that we can it’s next year,” Vucic said.
According to him, earlier Serbia planned a contract for several tens of millions of euros, but now we are talking about hundreds of millions, that is, the country relies on several dozen Bayraktar drones.
Note that the cost of a Bayraktar TB2 is approximately five million euros.
It was previously reported that Romania intends to buy 18 Bayraktar drones from Turkey.
Recall that Turkey introduced a new model of Bayraktar – Kızılelma. A “variation” of the well-known Turkish drone can be launched from the deck of a light aircraft carrier – the minimum length of the strip is enough for this.
