Parliamentarians voted for a draft law on public health. It provides a number of standards for the construction of buildings.
On Tuesday, September 6, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the draft law on public health (No. 4142) in its entirety. It provides for a ban on the use of asbestos in construction. This was announced by the leader of the Servant of the People party, People’s Deputy Olena Shulyak on her Telegram channel.
“Finally, we will get rid of the legacy of Soviet construction that is hazardous to health and replace it with modern building materials that will preserve the health of both builders and residents of new buildings,” he stressed.
According to the parliamentarian, the draft law prohibits the use of asbestos and products containing it.
Asbestos or mountain flax is the collective name for a number of fine-fiber minerals from the silicate class. It is used in construction, automotive and rocket science.
Asbestos is a Category 1 IARC carcinogen.
Remember that in Kyiv from September 1, during an air raid, work will be suspended at construction sites.
It should be noted that the adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, Petr Andryushchenko, showed the new buildings of Mariupol – the houses that the occupiers are building.
