The European Union needs to transfer the promised nine billion euros to Ukraine as soon as possible, believes Mateusz Morawiecki.
The European Commission has to pay Ukraine the promised nine billion euros, because EU aid is not enough. This is what Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said, Polish radio RMF24 reported on Tuesday, September 6.
“I consider this state of finances of the European Commission to be definitely inadequate,” he replied.
Thus, the Polish official commented on the EU’s efforts for financial assistance to Ukraine and the supply of equipment.
He noted that Russia’s plan in the face of ingratitude to inflict a military defeat on Ukraine may include attempts to “starve Ukraine.”
“Therefore, I urge – I spoke about this with Ursula von der Leyen in Copenhagen and a few days earlier – that the European Union transfers the promised 9 billion euros to Ukraine as soon as possible, because it is necessary to act contrary to those intention. of Putin, the Kremlin and Moscow, and not on that line, which perhaps Moscow has now made for itself another line of attack on Ukraine – a line of destabilization of the European Union,” he said.
The official warned the European Commission not to “enter Putin’s game, Moscow’s game, because this is a way to take away Ukraine’s sovereignty.”
According to Morawiecki, he talks with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal every few days.
“Probably, I will go to Ukraine in the near future,” added Morawiecki.
It should be noted that on May 18, 2022, the European Commission proposed to provide Ukraine with additional macro-financial assistance in the amount of up to nine billion euros in connection with the Russian invasion.
At the end of May, EU leaders approved the allocation of nine billion euros to the Ukrainian government to cover Ukraine’s immediate needs to keep the country functioning at a time when Russian aggression is being resisted.
It will be remembered that Morawiecki is in favor of stopping the granting of visas to Russian citizens, except for humanitarians.
In addition, Morawiecki accused French President Emmanuel Macron of irresponsibility after he said that NATO was suffering from “brain death”.
