In the Kherson region, the invaders intensified the fear of the local population: people were searched on the streets, kidnapped and taken to unknown directions. In addition, it is forbidden to cross the Dnieper. This was announced by the head of the Kherson regional military administration, Yaroslav Yanushevich.
“The occupiers and their accomplices intensify the terror against the civilian population of the region. People are searched in the streets, armed soldiers can enter their houses in the middle of the night. Those who “don’t want” in invaders are being kidnapped and taken to an unknown direction,” he said.
The Russians also forbade local residents to cross the Dnieper.
“This ban was established after the attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the concentrations of Russian troops. People cannot cross the Dnieper both on bridges and in boats. In case of violation, the invaders are threatening to open fire to kill,” said Yanushevich.
According to him, in the past two days, the police opened 23 criminal proceedings on war crimes committed by Russian servicemen and their henchmen in the Kherson region.
Thus, a collaborator, a pediatrician, was exposed, appointed by the occupying authorities as the acting head of the “state budget health care institution.”
And in the regions of Berislav and Genichesk, many facts of theft were recorded. The occupiers unload household goods, objects and furniture in trucks.
It was mentioned that in Genichesk, the invaders killed a man, then they ransacked his apartment. In total, seven civilians were abducted in the region.
In addition, Russian troops again shelled the Berislav region, there were dead and wounded, and civilian infrastructure was destroyed.
According to the deputy director of the Center for Middle East Studies, Sergei Danilov, the invaders also put pressure on the residents of Kherson through the Ukrainian language.
“The filtering, search, detention measures in the Kherson region were accompanied by pressure from the occupiers on the people for the Ukrainian language,” he said.
It was previously reported that the Russian Federation has strengthened the police regime in the occupied south.
Recall that the occupiers paused the “referendum” in the Kherson region. The reason for this decision was called the “security situation” in the region against the background of the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
