The Wuzhen-8 drone has a speed of up to 3,700 km/h and can be a kamikaze missile.
China’s military has demonstrated the Wuzhen-8 supersonic combat drone, which is capable of hitting aircraft and ships. The video from the air show in Changchun was published by analyst Yin Sura on Twitter.
It should be noted that for the first time the UAV was presented a year ago as part of an air show in the city of Zhuhai. So far, China has not reported its use.
The Wuzhen-8, also known as the WZ-8, is designed for reconnaissance, but can be converted into a kamikaze missile to destroy fighters or ships if necessary.
The prototype has a fixed wing and retractable undercarriage. At the back are two jet engine nozzles.
According to the developers, the drone can reach speeds above Mach 3 (about 3,700 km/h, depending on altitude) and outrun most air defense missiles.
The declared range of the aircraft is more than 8,000 km. In front of the hull, experts noticed two ledges, probably for the transportation of the WZ-8 with the help of the H-6N strategic bomber.
